A couple weeks ago I got a call from a friend saying that Ashton Kutcher was on campus. I thought it was too good to be true, but I wasn’t being Punk’d.
He was here, and although my daylong search to find him failed epically, there were enough muploads to prove that he did grace The University of Iowa with his presence.
Ever since this day, I have been catching up on all of my favorite Ashton Kutcher movies: Dude Where’s My Car, Valentine’s Day, The Guardian, etc.
And when I went to start putting in my newest DVD to watch No Strings Attached, I got another call from a friend telling me it was going to play this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 10 p.m. in IMU.
There’s nothing better than watching Ashton on the big screen, so I decided to post-pone watching No Strings Attached for a couple more days.
After all, the tickets are only two dollars. I hope to see you there!

Mission IMPROVable 4/28/11
So did you hear? This Thursday there will be four good looking guys wearing white button downs, black ties, and aviators at the Schaumbaugh Auditorium. Yep, that’s enough to get me on board.
But their cool looks aren’t all they’re good for, they can do IMPROV too!
So cute guys and they’re funny? Is there a better way to spend a Thursday night on campus? I think not.
Did I mention it’s free? Yes, I know you college students out there love that four letter word.
Not only has this group, Mission IMPROVable, been going strong for 13 years, they were also just named Campus Activities Magazine, “Comedy Act of the Year.”
COME SEE THEM, BRING YOUR FRIENDS! Thursday, April 28 @ 10:00 pm. In the Schaumbaugh Auditorium at the UI Main Library.

Roads: Twins vs Royals Game! 4/30/11
CAB is hitting the road this weekend to see an epic showdown between the Minnesota Twins and the Kansas City Royals! Baseball reminds me sooo much of summer and it’s the perfect activity to jump start it right before I have to bury myself in the library for finals L.
Not only have I been dreaming about the ballpark franks at Kauffman Stadium, but the soft pretzels, and nachos, and dippin’ dots too…… Clearly my favorite part of the game doesn’t have anything to do with seeing Melky Cabrera go 4-4 or Jason Kubel rob a homer in right.
So now my only question is who to cheer for? Even though my heart belongs with the Chicago Cubbies, I guess they can take the back seat for one game….home team advantage has me cheering for the Royals.
If anyone would like to make a friendly wager come find me on Saturday April 30, we depart from the IMU at Noon. Tickets are ONLY $30 so get them ASAP and enjoy the day at the ballpark!!!!

CAB Movie: The King's Speech
When it comes to movies, I usually chose the typical chick flick or romantic comedy, but I recently heard that CAB is showing the award winning film, King’s Speech!
This movie is definitely a step up for me, but I also know that it is also a movie that is worth clearing your schedule and finding two dollars in order to see. My friends and I are getting there early because I think it will be a sellout!
I remember watching the Academy Awards and wondering what QUEEN ELIZABETH was thinking! I mean a movie about her dad just won! (As if they weren't special enough :P)
Its crazy to think about the things King George went through to become so amazing! He was different after all; he had a speech impediment.
Because of his impediment, there was nothing he dreaded more than public speaking. However, upon taking his seat in the British monarchy, the country found itself in the midst of crisis. All eyes turned to King George VI for answers as England quickly declared war on Germany.
I’ve always been curious about the life of a king and now we get a sneak peak!!! To watch the trailer for this movie click:
So I will save you a seat in the Illinois Room at the IMU at 10pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (and don't forget the $2 and your own snacks)

Dive-In Movie: Cast Away
WILSON!!!!
This, my friends, is probably the most memorable line of Castaway. Personally the scene itself brought a tear to my eye. However that didn't stop me from watching the movie 6 times. No Joke.
Luckily the one and only CAB will be bringing Castaway (staring Tom Hanks) to the CWRC as a part of the dive in movie.
This is a free event and what can be better than watching Castaway while lounging in the leisure pool? I would highly recommend buying a smoothie too. mmmm tasty.
And i bet you didn't know Tom Hanks had to lose 55 pounds for the role. I'm super excited to be working this event and hope to see everyone there! you'll be missing out!
See you all there Friday night at 10:30 at the CWRC, for free.

Movie: The Green Hornet
So I was kind of a loser when I was younger, I would make believe I was the villain and my brother was the superhero. (I would be the Joker and he would Batman.)
But anyway enough about me.
Ever wish you could be both the villain while also being the superhero? Go see The Green Hornet! It has fast cars, lots of guns, and some funny guys (aka Seth Rogen and Jay Chou).
I will be there just to see Seth Rogen, but you gents out there might want to go because Cameron Diaz is in the movie. :D
Come see it!!!
The Green Hornet is playing Thursday April 7th-Saturday April 9th at 10:00 pm
Location: “CABTheater” aka: The Illinois Room (IMU)
Cost: $2.00
Pop: $1.00
